Opposite Directions at Seacrets
Seacrets
http://www.seacrets.com/ocean-city-md-events-all-calendar
Opposite Directions is the acoustic rock duo from Ocean City, MD with Darin Engh on vocals, acoustic guitar, bass, keyboard and harmonica and Bob Wilkinson on vocals, acoustic guitar, bass and harmonica. Opposite Directions was formed in 1986 and since then they have played up and down the East coast from Maine to Florida and as far out West as Colorado and Wyoming. While they mostly play in Ocean City, MD these days, they still manage to get out of town to other places in the Mid Atlantic every once in a while. Opposite Directions quickly developed a reputation for their tight harmonies and excellent guitar work. Voted the "Best Acoustic Rock Duo " by Beachcomber Magazine, where ever they are playing is considered the place to be for great acoustic music. You will often hear songs by such artists as James Taylor, Jim Croce, CSNY, America, Jimmy Buffet and others as well as their own songs from their release "Seeds of Change" but Opposite Directions also covers a wide range of musical styles from blue grass to modern rock to blues to reggae.

Joe Maurer Band at Seacrets
Seacrets
http://www.seacrets.com/ocean-city-md-events-all-calendar
The sound of Maurer's music is distinctive and unique enough to be impossible to label, but his classical and jazz training influence a blues and funk-based rock that reaches with intensity without overwhelming. Not to be eclipsed by Jon's eye-popping keyboard skills, his passionate vocals hearken classic rockers Roger Daltry and Robert Plant while paying homage to the consumable Beatles' harmonic sound.The current evolution of Jon's music features a minimalist, roots-based approach by limiting the sound to four basic instruments-piano, sax, bass and drums. Notably missing from this quartet is the versatility of a guitar, but its absence allows even more space for the nuance of the featured instruments and rich vocal melodies and harmonies.While Jon stands out, he's certainly not alone. Each band mate brings a lifetime of musical experience and education. Nick Selvi, a long-time Baltimore music veteran, has been featured in virtually every incarnation of Maurer's bands as well as the Kelly Bell Band. But for the first time, his saxophone is not a complement, but a supplement. Nick is a perpetual student of music of all forms who plays and teaches just about every major instrument and also lends his skill on the keyboard as well.

Haunted Halloween Fest
Airlift Acres
http://airliftentertainment.com/ai1ec_event/halloween-haunted-trail-of-terror/?instance_id=218
3 Terrifying Attractions for the price of one admission, $15
Not suitable for anyone under the age of 10

* Trail of Terror or Path of Death
* Blackwell House
* Field of Fears

Our three haunted attractions, The Trail of Terror, Haunted Forest, and Field of Fear are very scary attractions that take place in a wooded and outside venue setting. Most haunted trails are close to a mile long and may include small buildings, tents or huts that include various scenes and themes you’ll be forced to enter or walk past.

Some haunted paths are roped off to deny access to certain restricted areas and may or may not have lit paths. Unlike enclosed haunted houses, weather plays a major role to determine if the attraction will be open or closed. A typical haunted trail tour will last anywhere from 40-50 minutes. The tour time varies greatly depending on the number of people in a group, the customer’s pace and the overall size of the attraction.

The Trail of Terror, Blackwell House and the Field of Fear are comprised of over 20 acres, with over 30 acres for parking. Refreshments and souvenirs will be available during the event.

Dave Hawkins at Harpoon Hanna's
Harpoon Hanna's
http://www.harpoonhannasrestaurant.com/
Dave Hawkins, an accomplished musician, has been playing music for what seems to be his entire life. Music is his passion and he is passionate about how it's perceived throughout his audience. He plays many guitars, harmonica, and fiddle and when you hear him you will think there is a whole band, not just one person. This is accomplished by what is known as looping.  There is never a "backing track" to play along with, which is used by some other players out there. His vocals and music will reach the deepest part of you while it sets your senses alive. He plays sounds from the current popular, to classic rock, to Dave Matthews, to his own original compositions as he touches on just about any genre you may desire.

Interesting facts about Ocean City Maryland
  • The boardwalk benches from the Coast Guard Museum north to Thrasher's all face the boardwalk. From the Northside of the Pier Building (Ripley's) to 4th Street there are benches facing both the boardwalk and the ocean. From 4th Street North to the end of the boardwalk all of the benches face the boardwalk; the sea wall runs from 4th Street North and is about hip high; therefore sitting on a bench facing the ocean; you would not be able to see very much. At one time the benches from 4th Street North were flip back benches; meaning the back could move so that you could sit facing either direction; however in order to make the seating on the boardwalk more aesthetically pleasing per the Boardwalk Development Association those benches were done away with and a more decorative bench was used that does not give you the ability to face either direction.
