In addition, the Foundation will pursue grants available for workforce development programs such as job readiness training, internships; youth work experiences etc. to ensure that the local workforce is fully prepared to meet the regions upcoming challenges. In addition, as this is a resort community, it is critical to our economy to “grow our own” by offering optimal academics and work experience training to young people even before they exit high school. Additional Educational programs will focus on educating the region on local maritime heritage through events such as “Harbor Day at the Docks”, which recently won an award though the Lower eastern Shore Heritage Council.
